Can you share the initial challenges Dave’s Hot Chicken faced in enhancing its mobile experience and how Frame and Flight helped address these challenges?
Before bringing in Frame and Flight we were working with a couple technology vendors to get our mobile app off the ground. The app was being built on a platform with limited flexibility in the experience and with our brand known for being fun and creative, we were at an impasse on how to get more out of the vendors mobile platform.
We brought Frame and Flight in to drive consistency in our internal processes, figure out how our brand came to life on mobile, but also to figure out the limitations of our mobile platform.
We have since brought Frame and Flight into v2 of our app, which is looking REALLY good with a launch time frame of August 2024.
What was the outcome of that first app launch supported by Frame and Flight?
Despite our technology limitations for v1 of the app, we have a 4.9-star review on the Apple App Store. Our customers LOVE our app. We have also seen incredible growth with total downloads at X
What other work did Frame and Flight do to support the mobile and digital experience of your customers?
We leverage Frame and Flight for our Kiosk and customer and user research to see areas we can improve and surface any ‘barriers of use’ and ‘intent of use’ customers might have for using the app.
Can you elaborate on the collaborative process between Frame and Flight and your mobile development firm, particularly in terms of advising on user experience?
For our v2 app, which is launching in July, we chose a rather unorthodox approach. We brought Frame and Flight and IPA (our design and development partner) together to build the best possible experience for our users. The team at Frame and Flight has worked on probably the most ubiquitous and celebrated app out there, the Starbucks mobile order and pay app. Because of this, we thought it would be ideal to bring them together with IPA to advise on the experience, functionality, and overall design.
Why do you like working with Frame and Flight, what keeps bringing you back to them?
They are without a doubt extremely knowledgeable, very professional, and all-around fun to work with. I can throw just about any technology project their way and they handle it the same way with the same or better outcomes as a big consulting firm. They have been great with our vendors, for research, mobile app, and experience. Frame and Flight will be a long-time strategic partner of Dave’s Hot Chicken.
